How you can Help

Together, our community and compassionate staff have been dedicated to improving the quality of life for children in need since 1891. Every generous contribution is vital as we continue to help the most fragile members of our community.

Community support comes in many shapes and sizes. CHS gratefully receives contributions of financial gifts, in-kind services, products, clothing, gifts for our children, and volunteer service hours from children and adults.

The majority of CHS funding comes from state and local sources, however, they do not fully fund the vital care we provide to help children and families in need. We wisely manage gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners to enable us to:

• build families through international and domestic adoption services,
• provide free counseling services to women experiencing a crisis pregnancy,
• provide residential and short term care, camps and outings for children with disabilities,
• purchase medical equipment necessary to help a child eat or breathe,
• create magical birthday parties and holiday events,
• help struggling children and families through education and counseling services.

Top ten ways you could help:

1. Volunteer at our home
2. In lieu of birthday gifts, ask friends and family to contribute to CHS
3. Host a dinner party at your home or create your own event
4. Have a drive for casual jean day at work
5. Gather your friends and host a car wash
6. Make a financial gift to one of our programs
7. Organize an employee community service project day
8. Donate in-kind products or excess inventory
9. Hold a clothing drive
10. Sponsor our children during the holidays
